Darrell Tester - story regarding his father Alfred..
Dad's mother was known as "Fanny". I have an interesting story about that, from my research about 10-15 years ago. I started my search too late to have many decendents of his still alive in England. I wrote to about 18 Tester's and only a couple knew who he was. A former wife of his brother, living now in Australia, was referred to me. She told me her husband(since deceased) often talked about a sister named Fanny. He said Fanny had gotten pregnant out of wedlock, and had been disowned by their family. She took the baby and moved away from Crowborough. Then, they heard she'd immigrated to Canada a few years later. Dad was in Canada before coming to Michigan, for he fought with the Canadian Army in Europe in WW1. I've remember hearing that he lied about his age and went into the service at 16. It sounded very logical, that Fanny took him there, and he went into the military service. His b'day was Nov. 26, 1893. That puts him in Canada before 1910, so your 1930 date must be when he moved to Michigan.
